Already 3 months old!!

I can't belive Owen is already 3 months old! Jared thought he was 4 months and was a little disappointed when I had to break it to him that it was only 3. He is getting so big so fast! I've been back at work for 2 weeks now and I am adjusting to it a little better this week. It was so hard at first to be away from him, but I am getting used to it now and I know he has fun staying at Granvons. We don't go back to the doctor until he's 4 months so I don't know his weight or length. He's eating 4 ounces every 2 hours and can wear 6 month clothes if they are Carter's brand. He loves to suck on anything except a passy, will not take one at all. Just give him a burp cloth or his monkey and he is good or he is happy with his hands too. He will tolerate the bumbo seat for about 5 minutes then he's done. He's learned how to bounce the bouncy seat by pumping one of his legs, its so funny to watch! He will tolerate tummy time for about a minute. When on his back he's started rolling from side to side and last night he rolled completely over onto his tummy for the first time! He just couldn't get one of his arms out from under him so I'm not sure if it really counts but he was flat on his stomach except for having that one arm pinned underneath him. If he goes to bed at 9:30 he'll sleep till 4:30 take a bottle and go back down until we get him up to leave for work, but seems like if I put him down any earlier then he is up at 1:30 or 2:00 for a bottle, so needless to say we are keeping bedtime at 9:30! We are all adjusting to me getting back to work. This week I was on day shift so I left the house at 5am meaning Jared had to get Owen up, ready and out the door. I think he really likes doing it, Owen is so cute in the mornings, he will talk and just be in the best mood. I miss seeing him in the morning but next week I'm on the evening shift so I won't go in till 1pm and be home by his bedtime, so I will get to have him in the mornings!

Working mom = Tired mom

I've been back at work for almost a week and a half now, and I am tired! I feel like all I do is run, run, run! I get up and rush to get ready, out the door by 4:45am, try to get everything done at work so when my relief comes I can get out of there as fast as I can to race to Yvonne's to get Owen, and may I mention that it always seems like I hit EVERY red light on the way there! Once I get Owen and get home he usually takes a nap so while he's napping I rush around the house picking up and cleaning whatever I can and work on the laundry too. After nap its time to start supper while entertaining a 3 month old, he usually sits on the counter in his bouncy and "helps" me cook. And did I mention that since Owen is at Yvonne's for part of the day and not with me, when I do have him I feel like I need to make up for lost time and give him my undivided attention. So needless to say I am wearing down fast! I'm just hoping once we get into the swing of things it won't feel like such a rush all the time. Next week my schedule will change and I'll be on the evening shift so I'll get to figure out how to get all that needs to be done actually done again! I told Jared last night that I'm not sure how long I can keep this up!

Getting ready for Easter...

I'm so excited for Owen's first Easter! I've had his Easter Basket ready for weeks! It was so much fun picking out toys for him! I think I might have gone a little overboard with the toys, I put it all together today and was pleased with how they all ended up fitting. I did have to leave out a set of stacking rings due to space issues, but everything else fit perfectly! I also had his Easter outfit made and will be picking it up on Thursday. Its a cute little white and blue searsucker john john with 3 little bunnies on the front. And cousin Carter will have a green and white one to match. They will be so cute! Jared took off on Friday so we are heading up to the lake to stay with my mom on Thursday night. I love going to the lake so I'm super excited! Kim, Chad and Carter will be coming up on Friday night and then Kevin, Liz, Avery and Leah will come on Saturday. We'll be dying eggs and hiding them for Carter and Avery, should be fun!!

Baby Leah has Arrived!

Leah Katherine

Owen and Leah

Sweet Girl!

Kevin, Me and Leah

Owen has a new best friend! Kevin and Elizabeth had baby number 2 on Friday, Leah Katherine. She is just precious, as you can see from the pictures above. We knew she was going to come early and she did! Liz went into labor on Thursday night and they made their way to the hospital and little Leah was born Friday morning at 8:11am! I was up Friday at about 8:45 and had just gotten out of the shower, I was feeding Owen and see a call from Kevin on my cell phone. I answered it and said, "Is Liz in labor?!" and he replied "We already had her about 30 minutes ago!". What?! You couldn't give someone a phone call for a heads up or something? He said he had sent me an email at 3:30am that morning letting us know they were at the hospital. Silly me did not get up and check my email first thing that morning, what was I thinking? Its ok though, I'm just gald she is here and everything went great! It gives me a funny story to tell anyway! Leah and Owen are 9 weeks apart and its amazing to see what a difference 9 weeks makes in babies! Owen looks huge compared to her. I'm so glad Owen will have a little buddy so close to his age. Avery and Carter are 9 weeks apart and its so much fun to see them play together now that they are both walking. I love that all our babies will get to grow up together!!

On another note, I think that I'm addicted to having babies. Just the whole process of it is such a fun and exciting time...being pregnant and getting to go to the doctor and watch your baby grow, fixing up a nursery, all the attention you get with your cute pregnant belly, the feeling you have when you first hear them cry (it is just the best!), bringing them home for the first time...it is all just so much fun! I want to do it all again...in a couple of years of course :)

2 Month Checkup and Meeting Granvon

These pictures have nothing to do with this post but I hate a post with no pictures and I thought these were cute!

Having fun with Carter

Me and my girlfriend Virginia!

Owen had his 2 month check up today. I was excited to see how much he has grown but not so excited that he would be getting four shots! He has gained 2lbs since his 4 week check up and grown an inch! He weighs 12lbs 1oz and is 24 inches long. The nurse came in and gave him his oral vaccine first--he cried--so I knew we were not off to a good start. Ofcourse he screamed when he got the shots but after being held by daddy and a bottle he seemed to be okay. That was pretty much it, nothing too exciting!

Yesterday my mom, and I took Owen to meet Granvon, the lady that will be keeping him when I go back to work. Her name is Yvonne but the kids call her Granvon. She runs an in home daycare and is licensed by DHR to keep 6 kids. I am so thankful that I found her! I was not really excited about having to put Owen in daycare. This way he is in a home setting and there are not as many kids as a normal daycare. Plus he will not be there ALL day long thanks to my wonderful work schedule. I really don't think I could do this if I had to leave him all day long. And I know that God put me in the job I have now because he knew that's where I needed to be when I had a baby. He has really taken care of us!

2 Months Old!

Today Owen is 2 months old! I can't believe how fast all this is going, in just 3 short weeks I will be heading back to work and the real fun will begin! It should be interesting at our house those first few mornings when we have to get out of the house by 6:50am, I try not to think about it! And it will be even more interesting on the days that I go in extra early and Jared has to get Owen together all by himself, sure do wish I could be a fly on the wall for that! Well, Owen is such a big boy. When we went to the doctor for his 4 week check up he weighed 10lbs 3oz and was 23 inches long. I've noticed he has gotten a lot fatter since then so I can't wait to see what he weighs next week when we go for his 2 month check up. He has been smiling since about 4 weeks and it is just the cutest thing. He loves to lay in the floor and have me or Jared talk to him. He will smile and talk to us and flail his little arms and legs. He will sort of laugh a little bit when I rub my finger down his nose, why this is funny I'm not sure. And he also thinks its funny when Jared changes his dirty diaper. His bedtime routine works VERY well. He gets a bath and a bottle and falls right to sleep. We put him down between 9:30 and 10:00 and he usually sleeps until 4:30 and goes back down until around 7ish. I'm very happy with his sleeping! Overall he is a pretty happy baby!
